Whiskey Daredevils & Friends Whoop It Up @GrogShop

WhiskeyDaredevils

Fri 2/20 @ 9PM

The Whiskey Daredevils are one of those bands Clevelanders tend to take for granted. They’ve been around almost 12 years and they grew out of the similar Cowslingers, which formed in 1990. Both bands are/were fronted by high-energy vocalist Greg Miller, whose commitment to the band’s raging punkabilly style is absolute.

The band continues to rock its version of in-your-face rockabilly/old-school country with songs that range from tongue-in-cheek to deeply moving, cranking out new music on a regular basis. The Genny Session and Nashville Surprise are the latest of many. Live, they’re just a whole bunch of can’t-sit-still fun.

They’re topping a bill at the Grog Shop that includes the D-Rays from Athens, Ohio bringing surf-influenced garage rock, A-Train and the Steamers’ traditional country/rockabilly and Miss Firecracker’s highly entertaining one-woman show.

Admission is $6.
