You’ll get a double hit of new Cleveland music when two female-fronted bands, 45 Spider and Kiss Me Deadly, host a dual record release show at the Beachland Tavern.
45 Spider (a reference to those little converters put in the middle of 45 records to position them on a turntable) has a sound steeped in the garage rock, surf music, soul and pop of the early-mid ’60s, with Hadley K’s vocals reminiscent of the cool-as-a-cucumber girl group lead singers of the era.
Kiss Me Deadly, a trio whose sound is a little more elusive, will be releasing their long-awaited CD What You Do In the Dark. Singer/songwriter/guitarist Jen Poland, drummer Madelyn Hayes and keyboard player Evan Lieberman make music that harks back to the slinky edgy pop of the new wave/early MTV era.
Boss Mustangs and Jackyls of Botswana round out the bill.
Admission is $8.
