* Holden Arboretum

Holden Arboretum’s beautiful forests and gardens satisfy our wanderlust for natural spaces because one can spend an entire day wandering amongst woodlands, meadows, and waterways in this magical place. Paths wind along Pierson Creek through a valley of wildflowers and ferns, past rhododendron gardens, and stop at Corning Lake to observe the waterfowl. Features include the Blueberry Pond, Lotus Pond, and Buttonbush Bog. Trees and flora are marked so you can discover ways to beautify your gardens at home. The facility is open all year around so you can observe nature’s changing seasons.

You’l want to be sure to check out two of Holden’s recent additions that offer a bird’s eye view of nature: the Kalberer Emergent Tower and the Murch Canopy Walk. In addition, Holden has a full schedule of special events including markers’ markets, concerts, guided hikes and workshops.
