EXCLUSIVE: CC Interview with Tim DeLaughter of Polyphonic Spree

Sat 8/23 at 8PM

When Tim DeLaughter’s bandmate in Tripping Daisy Wes Berggren passed away tragically from a drug overdose, he knew he wanted something totally different. “When Wes passed, it took a toll on everybody. It was earth-shattering.” Listen to the exclusive Cool Cleveland interview with Tim here.

Appearing at the new Music Box Supper Club on Sat 8/23, Polyphonic Spree will bring about 20 musicians, from french horn to strings to a full rock band.

Polyphonic Spree delighted David Bowie enough for him to curate them into the Meltdown Festival and have them open for him on tour. Listen to DeLaughter talk about working with Bowie and putting his music on movies and TV soundtracks like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and United States of Tara. “Hopefully we get some perks when people decide to use our music. That’s basically how we’ve been able to survive. At the end of the day, we get paid for a 4-piece band. But we have four bands in our band!”

Listen to the interview here. Then come to their performance to see if they will be wearing their ubiquitous choral robes. Or something totally different.
