Opening Thu 7/24
From 1914 to 1918, the world was drastically changing. The war affected everything and lead to technological, social and political upheaval. Women’s roles were changing, too. They were called to contribute to the war effort in various ways, which in turn led them to achieve greater equality. These changes were reflected in fashions of the time, which will be on view at the Kent State University Museum’s The Great War: Women and Fashion in a World at War exhibit.
Cumbersome petticoats and corsets of generations before are replaced with serviceable (and more practical) suits with slim, clean lines. View fashions of women at work, play and home, along with a selection of propaganda posters.
