African-American Drum & Dance Conference Brings Rhythm to @TriCedu

Sat 6/14-Sun 6/15

Tri-C’s Metro Campus will be resounding with rhythm when the 5th Annual Juneteenth Conference hosts a celebration of African-American freedom with drumming, dancing, poetry, and music. Master teachers from Senegal, Mali, Guinea, Ivory Coast and the U.S. will be on hand to lead workshop throughout both days. Classes are $15 each.

Saturday evening features a special concert performance choreographed by dancer and Cleveland School of the Arts alumna Talise Campbell, featuring performers from Cleveland’s Djapo Cultural Arts Institute which she founded. It’s followed by an African dance after-party at Anatomy Ultralounge in the Warehouse District, where everyone can join in. Tickets for the concert are $25 in advance, $30 at the door and can be purchased here.
