Few bands impacted ’90s underground rock as much as Louisville, Kentucky’s Slint.
During their brief run in the late ’80s and early ’90s, they helped create the template for “math rock,” a post-punk genre of heavy music that rejected traditional pop song structures. Their 1991 album, Spiderland, released in 1991 shortly before they broke up is an indie rock classic.
The band has reunited to tour for the first time in seven years, with original members David Pajo, Brian McMahan, and Britt Walford, to support the remastered vinyl reissue of Spiderland, including outtakes and demos, a 104-page booklet, and a 90-minute documentary about the band called Breadcrumb Trail.
They’ll be at the Grog Shop, with Wreckmeister Harmonies opening.
Tickets are $28.50 in advance, $30 at the door.
