Draw Hansel & Gretel @drsketchyakron’s Alternative Art School @AkronArtMuseum

Thu 5/8 @ 6pm

If you’re not familiar, Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School is a relatively new twist on a classic practice. Amateur and professional artists (18+ to draw, 21+ to drink) gather to drink and draw live models dressed in themed costumes. Northeast Ohio is lucky enough to have two Dr. Sketchy “schools” – Akron and Cleveland.

The Akron chapter of Dr. Sketchy’s is celebrating a “Year of Grimm” with models dressed in themes around the stories of the Brothers Grimm. This month’s theme is Hansel and Gretel – featuring Ava Adore and Stavii. The event will take place in the beautiful foyer of the Akron Art Museum.

In January 2015, Dr. Sketchy’s Akron will solicit works inspired by or created at any of the “Year of Grimm” life drawing events for a traveling, fairy tale-themed exhibition. Stop by this week to sketch Hansel and Gretel, and get involved with “Year of Grimm.” Visit their website for more info on future events.
