William Busta Gallery Debuts Three New Exhibitions From Local Artists

Fri 4/25 @ 5pm

This Friday, William Busta Gallery continues to celebrate their 25th anniversary season with three new exhibitions. Local artist, Christi Birchfield, will debut her latest collection of drawings and paintings. She received her BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2006 and her MFA from Columbia University School of the Arts in 2010 – concentrating in Printmaking at both schools. Her work is included in the Permanent Print and Drawing Collection of the Cleveland Museum of Art.

Susan Umbenhour will also debut new work on Friday. She has been teaching at Oberlin College for over a decade. Umbenhour also previously taught at University of Akron and Ursuline College. Like Birchfield, she received her BFA from Cleveland Institute of Art, but received her MFA from Johnson State College in Vermont.

The last exhibition features work by teachers from Shaker Heights’ Laurel School – including Jane Berger, Catherine Butler, Renee Psiakis and Jeanne Regan. The Laurel School was founded in 1896, and is a nationally renowned, college preparatory K-12 school for girls.

All exhibitions run through the end of April.

Unfortunately the information about me and my colleagues is incorrect. We are not students at Laurel School, we are long time teachers in the art department. Thanks for the correction.
