Jazz Vocalist Laura Varcho will be headlining a much anticipated, long awaited concert at Nighttown on Wed 4/30 at 7PM, which also happens to be International Jazz Day. After taking a hiatus from the music scene in 2007, Varcho has returned to performing and her loyal following and many new fans are finally getting the concert they’ve been asking for.
It’s been nearly a decade since she last performed at Nighttown and she will be backed by a stellar trio – pianist Joe Hunter, bassist Bryan Thomas and drummer Jim Richley. Varcho will be putting her interpretive trademark on pieces new to her repertoire by legendary composers including Duke Ellington, Harold Arlen and Irvin Berlin, along with a few surprises.
