@mocacleveland’s Latest Exhibition Links Oldest & Newest Structures In University Circle

Sat 4/12 @ 6:45

This weekend, MOCA Cleveland presents, And in My Dream I Was Rolling on the Floor, a unique, site-specific sound installations by NYC-based artist Kevin Beasley in MOCA’s Gund Commons as well as the historic Cozad-Bates mansion located just across the street. The events will link the oldest and newest structures in University Circle. The Cozad estate will host four pieces (30-45 minutes each), while MOCA will be become a listening environment. The four works are designed specifically to capturing the shifting atmosphere throughout the evening.

The Cozad house is the only surviving pre-Civil War structure in University Circle. The home is currently under renovations after being designated an official city landmark in 2006. MOCA and Beasley selected the house because its current state creates a venue with a rich history in the midst of on-going change — like Northeast Ohio in general.

Both events are FREE and open to the public, but advance tickets are highly recommended.
