Like his flashier younger brother, the late Stevie Ray, blues guitar player Jimmie Vaughan was something of a prodigy who was already hitting the rock/blues circuit in his mid teens.
Unlike his brother, whose life was snuffed out at age 35 in a helicopter crash following almost a decade of huge commercial success, Jimmie has had one of those long, steady careers lacking in big breakout moments. He established himself with 15 years in blues/rock touring machine the Fabulous Thunderbirds before launching his solo career in the early ’90s. He continues to mine traditional American music and culture, sporting a ’50s look and developed a sideline restoring classic cars.
You know pretty much what you will get from this consistent and consistently entertaining performer where he comes to the Kent Stage.
Tickets are $35.
