Joe Vitale Jr. grew up around music as the son of drummer (and Canton native) Joe Vitale whose resume includes Joe Walsh’s Barnstorm, the Eagles, and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
He took to music like a duck to water, developing his own skills as a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and digital engineer, who’s added the heavier rock of the ’90s to the sounds he absorbed from his father and his father’s friends.
Vitale released his first solo album Dancing With Shadows in 2008. Since then, he’s released another album, several soundtracks and, this past year, a pair of singles. He’s played with tribute bands devoted to the music of Eric Clapton, Neil Young, and CSNY. In 2011, he formed his own Joe Vitale Jr Band, which focuses on his own material.
Vitale will perform at the Akron Civic Theatre as part of its intimate cabaret series.
