Two @cwru Professors Discuss Darwin & Evolution @goCMNH

Wed 2/12 @ 7pm
Sat 2/15 @ 10am

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History pays homage to Charles Darwin this week with two very special lectures by Case Western Reserve University professors. On Wednesday evening, Dr. Darin Croft [pictured] will explain how, despite recent technological advances, modern-day scientists studying evolutionary biology still rely on Darwin’s and Alfred Wallace’s 150+ year old research.  The presentation will discuss how isolated systems (like islands) illustrate Darwin’s concepts.

On Saturday, Dr. Patricia Princehouse of CWRU will offer a hands-on look into Darwin’s work.  Using first editions of Darwin’s books and 180 of his letters to colleagues and friends, this lecture will include an opportunity for each participant to decipher a letter and re-examine the topics of the lecture.
