Tickets to Go On Sale 2/28 For May Peter Wolf Show @KentStage

May 3 @ 8PM

Peter Wolf, who has just booked a show at the Kent Stage, needs little introduction to Cleveland classic rock audiences. His band, the J. Geils Band, was a mainstay on WMMS-FM back in the station’s, and the band’s, glory years — and before

While the Geils Band had a couple of hit in the early ’70s, it spent most of that decade supported by cities like Cleveland where it had built a loyal following thanks to WMMS. That following kept the band going until it exploded into superstardom in the early ’80s with albums like Love Stinks and Freeze Frame.

The group went out on a high note in the mid ’80s (although it’s had occasional reunions). Wolf, its engagingly frenetic frontman with his line of patter honed as a DJ in the late ’60s, continued on as a solo artist.

He’ll be bringing his act to the Kent Stage in May, but tickets go on sale Fri 2/28.

They’re $35 in advance. They’ll be $40 at the door, if any are left.
