“Strange Lines and Distances” Challenges Viewers @MOCACleveland

Thu 2/27 @ 8pm

Experimedia and MOCA present their latest collaboration this week.  Experimental, multimedia artist Joshua Bonnetta’s Strange Lines and Distances is a complex work that is difficult to explain economically.  Bonnetta drew his inspiration from Guglielmo Marconi’s first transatlantic radio transmission. He traveled to the two sites of the original broadcast to gather site-specific imagery and sounds.

Strange Lines and Distances is a multimedia installation featuring two channels – each based on the original locations of the radio transmission.  By juxtaposing the images from one location with the sounds of the other, Bonnetta creates a contemplative experience that raises many interesting questions.

You’ll have a chance to ask those questions at a Q&A following the film screening on Thursday evening.  In addition, Bonnetta will give an artist talk before the screening to offer more context as well.  Don’t miss this special evening at MOCA!
