Some people can’t walk and chew gum at the same time. April Verch, on the other hand, puts other people’s dexterity to shame.
The Canadian fiddler, vocalist, and singer-songwriter is also a step dancer — not on the side, but at the same time. She’s known for her dazzling performances in which she demonstrates her ability to play complicated fiddle lines and dance at the same time.
While her musical style is based on traditional folk and bluegrass, she’s a trained musician who attended Berklee College of Music in Boston. She launched her recording career in 1992 and has made nine albums, including last year’s Bright Like Gold.
When she performs at Nighttown, she’ll be accompanied by her band — bassist/banjo player Cody Walters, and guitarist Hayes Griffin.
Tickets are $20.
