Brittany Benton is also known as DJ Red-I when she performs with emcee Playne Jayne as hip-hop duo FreshProduce. But her love affair with vinyl also led her to open her own record store specializing in vinyl — albums, 7” singles, 12” singles — in Slavic Village. The stock of her small, packed record store includes hip hop, of course, along with R&B, soul, Funk, reggae, dancehall, jazz, electronic and world music — if it’s got a good beat and you can dance to it, she’s interested.
She’s open Fridays-Saturdays and hosts DJs in store on weekend.
