How good a fit is Mountain Heart for Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Heritage series at Happy Days Lodge? Well, they just played there last spring and now they’re back already.
The six-member acoustic band, based in Nashville, grew out of the bluegrass scene some 15 years ago. Since then, they’ve released seven albums and garnered shelves full of awards and nominations for awards.
Over the years, they’ve added and subtracted members. Musically, they’ve only added — reaching out to incorporate country, jazz, folk and jam rock into their fundamental bluegrass roots. There’s even a little bit of electric bass or guitar here and there, but instruments like banjo, mandolin and fiddle still play a key role in their sound. And in the purest bluegrass tradition, they don’t use drums.
Admission is $22, $17 for conservancy members, and $7.50 for children 3-12. Reserve tickets here.
