Sat 2/1 @ 9am
The first day of February is a busy day at the Cleveland Botanical Garden. As Orchid Mania kicks off, the Botanical Garden hosts various activities – including a solo exhibition of encaustic wax paintings incorporating real orchids by local artist Dawn Tekler – and the 9th Annual Sustainability Symposium: PRESERVE & PROTECT.
The symposium will include lectures on preservation and sustainability efforts across Northeast Ohio. Guest speakers include Sandra Albio, Director of Research at the Cleveland Botanical Garden; Larry Giblock, Lead Horticulturist at the Botanical Garden; Jennifer Grieser, Senior Natural Resource Manager – Urban Watersheds, Cleveland Metroparks; Greg Miller, owner of Empire Chestnut Company; and Victoria Mills, Executive Director, Doan Brook Watershed Partnership.
An optional, introductory T’ai Chi class will be offered before the symposium at 8:15am. Stop by the Cleveland Botanical Garden this weekend to see the breathtaking beauty of nature, and discuss how to preserve it for many future generations.
