The Akron Art Museum is a must-see when visiting the rubber city. Located downtown on High Street, across from the Akron Public Library, the museum has transformed what was the former post office into a reconstructed work of art.
The museum prides itself on its many collections including paintings, glass, photography, and videos. While there are many beautiful paintings, sculptures and drawings in the museum, one of the most unique and largest collections is a collection of glass paperweights by artist Paul Stankard.
Not only does the museum have some amazing exhibits, but they also offer community events open to all, like the popular Art of Ale and summer Downtown@Dusk events.
