Jazz Singer Vanessa Rubin Comes Home for the Holidays to Nighttown

Mon 12/30 @ 7 & 9PM

Vocalist Vanessa Rubin is yet another of the army of Cleveland-bred jazz musicians who moved on to make an impact on the jazz world.

Following her stint at The Ohio State University, she moved to New York in the early ’80s. Since then, she’s performed with jazz legends like Toots Thielemans, Grover Washington, Jr., Herbie Hancock, the Woody Herman Orchestra, and the Jazz Crusaders.

She’s especially known for her skillful interpretations of Billie Holiday tunes, which she’s performed both as part of a one-woman show channeling Holiday and in her own voice in her concert and nightclub sets. Her latest CD Full Circle, with a duet album with sax player Don Braden, came out early this past year.

Tickets are $25.
