Pianist Jay Epstein is yet another example of how the Cleveland jazz scene nurtures talent.
Originally from Cleveland Heights, he was part of Tri-C’s highly regarded high school jazz program before heading to New York City to attend the New School’s jazz program from which he graduated in 2006.
He’s continued to perform, compose and teach in Brooklyn prior to moving to Philadelphia in 2012 to earn a masters in music education at Temple University.
He’ll be back in Cleveland Heights at Nighttown to show the hometown folks how much he’s evolved as a musician. He’ll be joined by drummer Ricky Exton and bassist Alan Gleghorn.
