“Christmas is Comin’ Uptown” – A (Harlem) Christmas Carol @KaramuHouse

Thu 12/6 – Sun 12/29

Karamu House presents their unique twist on Dickens’ A Christmas Carol with their latest production – Christmas is Comin’ Uptown.  The story follows Scrooge, a Harlem slumlord, just before he’s about to foreclose on an apartment building, a rec center and a church.

As in Dickens’ story, he’s visited by his late partner and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present & Future.  Karamu’s rendition includes an authentic, powerful gospel number in a Baptist church.

Directed by Richard A Morris, music by Garry Sherman, book by Philip Rose & Peter Udell.
