Y-Haven Theatre Project brings inspirational shows around Cle & @CPTCLE

Thu 11/14 – Sat 11/23

This weekend, Cleveland Public Theatre hosts a benefit to support Y-Haven, a program of the YMCA of Greater Cleveland, which serves 113 homeless men in the city of Cleveland, with a wide range of services including substance abuse and mental health treatment, case management services and permanent housing placement.

The Y-Haven Theatre Project supports newly learned skills for sober and independent living and honors the unique and important perspective men in recovery bring to the Cleveland community.

Since 1998, Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) and Y-Haven have annually collaborated to create an original theatre production, performed by the residents and based on their personal experiences.  Every year, the original work is presented to enthusiastic full houses at CPT.  The play tours Cleveland area homeless shelters, recovery centers, college campuses, churches and juvenile detention centers.

Shows are free (though the benefit on Fri 11/16 is ticketed since it’s a fundraiser & silent auction).
