What is steampunk? Steampunk is a style that can best be described as romantic yet edgy, industrial but artistic. Steampunk is your favorite science-fiction book mashed up with your favorite romance novel with equal parts metal and lace. Steampunk jewelry features beads, chains, hardware (yes, actual hardware), and lace. This Friday afternoon, Lakewood Library invites teens in grades 6-12 to join them in the Main Library Activity Room to learn the basics of this fascinating jewelry craze.
