Fri 10/11 @ 5pm
Acclaimed local watercolor artist Mary Lou Ferbert presents her latest body of work – Sidewalks – this Friday at Downtown’s Bonfoey Gallery. Ferbert was born and raised in Cleveland. Sidewalks is a body of work that contemplates changes over time by examining the old sandstone sidewalks of Greater Cleveland.
Not only are fewer people using sidewalks, but sandstone sidewalks are disappearing, replaced by concrete slabs. As Ferbert’s work portrays, sandstone has organically formed color and texture that gives it a history. The works are highly skillful and well executed. The subject matter is quiet and contemplative. As our society rushes forward into the future, Sidewalks takes a moment to pause and reflect.
This exhibition and reception are FREE and open to the public. Show runs through November 19th. Additional Hours: Mondays-Thursdays 8:30am-5:30pm, Fridays 8:30am-5pm, Saturdays 9am-3pm.
