Fri 11/1 @ 6pm
Fresh off of a career-spanning retrospective at Waterloo’s Gallery One Sixty at this summer’s Waterloo Arts Fest, established local artist Bob Peck presents an all-new exhibition of his unique abstract paintings, Flourish, at Downtown’s Rotten Meat Gallery.
Peck’s work combines elements of street art/graffiti and more traditional abstract painting – balancing precise line quality and draftsmanship with expressive brushstrokes and diagonal lines, forms and swirls created with aerosol cans. These various media create dynamic compositions. His works have a unique energy. Peck’s style captures the aesthetic zeitgeist of contemporary, urban culture – evolving abstract painting to an almost futuristic degree. His compositions are compelling despite lacking any obvious imagery.
For this exhibition, Peck has made a number of smaller works priced affordably for any budget. Works on paper will begin at $40 and canvases start at just $50. With prices that low, there’s no reason not to check out the show. Plus, Bob’s a great guy and a positive influence in Cleveland’s art community. You can see his work on exterior walls all over Cleveland – including the Zoetic Walls mural project on Waterloo Road in Collinwood and Art City at The Agora.
This event is free and open to the public.
