Anne Cochran, Abe LaMarca Share Nighttown Stage

Wed 10/23 @ 7PM

Cleveland singers Anne Cochran and Abe LaMarca had uncannily similar paths, getting an early start in music, stepping back for  while, and then relaunching later in life.

After singing in bands on the regional circuit in her teens and early 20s and putting out an album, Cochran settled down in Shaker Heights to raise a family.

But when her high school buddy Jim Brickman moved to Los Angeles and hit it big in the ’90s with his piano-based pop music, he tapped her to join him on the road and on record as one of his featured vocalists. That led to a blossoming of her career, including more releases of her own.

LaMarca’s a bit older than Cochran. He delved into soul music as a teenager here in the late ’60s and performed by respected Cleveland jazz/rock ensemble Rastus in the early ’70s.

He released one youthful album on Scotti/CBS and then spent some time raising his family here in Cleveland while doing jingle work. He moved to Las Vegas in 2005 amp up his performing career again.

The two are pairing up to present a show at Nighttown this week, blending their two wonderful voices.

Tickets are $20.
