Quarry Hill Winery is the realized dream of Mac McLelland who once made wine at John Christ Winery in Avon. He chose the hilltop high above his vineyards because it’s a great place to grow grapes and view distant Lake Erie from the beautiful windowed winery.
Fruit wines, such as apple, blueberry, and raspberry are inspired by adjacent Quarry Hill Orchards. Tasty cheese plates nicely complement the grape wines, which include Cabernet Franc and Pinot Grigio crafted from Estate-grown grapes.
Visitors can relax inside the high-ceilinged winery near the fireplace or enjoy the vineyards from the outside decks. A destination winery, it has plenty of local support, and is easily found off Route 2 in Berlin Heights.
