Downtown Lakewood’s Latest Mural To Be Unveiled Saturday

Sat 9/28 @ Noon

Beautiful murals have been popping up all over town for months.  From Waterloo’s Zoetic Walls to Laura and Gary Dumm’s Love Letter to Cleveland, to the outside of Chagrin Falls’ Valley Art Center, local artists are making Cleveland look great.  Property Owner of Downtown Lakewood’s Bailey Building, Brad Kowit, and local artist/gallery owner, Jacqueline DelBrocco, will proudly unveil their contribution to the community’s aesthetics this Saturday at Noon.

Kowit recently held a mural design contest in an effort to improve the visual quality of the outside of his blank brick building.  Contest winner Jacqueline Delbrocco has been quite busy recently.  She painted a giant guitar for Downtown Cleveland’s Guitarmania and a dinosaur at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.  She exhibited her work in Colorado and her paintings are featured on labels of wine bottles for Artiste Winery – based in Los Olivos, CA.  She is also the main organizer of RAW Cleveland and owner of Kirtland’s Jade Gallery.

The dream-like mural is based on a famous quote by Eleanor Roosevelt.  Both Kowitt and DelBrocco present a positive and uplifting message to the community in a way that both stimulates intellect and inspires imagination.  The mural – currently covered – will be officially unveiled at Saturday’s event.

This event is FREE and open to the public.  Parking is available behind the building, off of Warren Road, south of Detroit Avenue.
