In case you haven’t heard yet, Cleveland’s Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) is FREE to the public on the first Saturday of every month thanks to Medical Mutual. This month is your last (free) opportunity to see two group exhibitions featuring local and regional artists – Everything All At Once and Realization is Better Than Anticipation.
Everything All at Once features four Cleveland-based artists who make sense of the world through restructuring and assembling found materials. These common things—picked up, repainted, repaired, or completely transformed—navigate between the ordered space of the museum and the material jumble of the outside world.
Realization is Better than Anticipation includes work by 12 artists connected to Cleveland and the surrounding region – including Detroit, Pittsburgh, and locations throughout Ohio. The exhibition brings together emerging and established artists, some with deep histories in the region and others who have arrived from elsewhere. Across a range of media including painting, photography, sculpture, textiles, ceramics, video, sound, and performance, the artists demonstrate a particular sensitivity to their materials and surroundings.
Both exhibitions run through October 13th.
