Good Company moved into the space vacant by the relatively short-lived Vita Urban in Battery Park in early 2019. Its vibe is both family-friendly and neighborhood hangout, and its unpretentious bar menu is accommodating to vegans and vegetarians, with a special kids’ menu as well.
That menu features comfort food/traditional pub grub items such as sandwiches and burgers, salads, appetizers such as potato skins and buffalo wings, a “cowboy” steak supper, and some desserts virtually all made from scratch. But the menu is studded with unusual items such as the watermelon cerviche and battered celery root appetizers. There’s also beer, wine by the glass or bottle, and cocktails at reasonable prices. Best of all the kitchen serves until 11 every day, with the bar open until midnight (11 on Sunday) and 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, making it a great repeat drop-in location for a drink or bite for the growing cohort of nearby residents.
