P.J.’s Luncheonette fed downtown Cleveland’s with diner-style breakfasts and lunches in the 5th Street Arcade for 35 years before it became Jack Flap’s in 2015. In early 2019, it turned into Addy’s Diner, returning to the familiar old-school food P.J.’s served.
Don’t look for fancy food here: it’s all about all-day breakfasts of omelets, eggs, pancakes and waffles, and lunches featuring burgers, sandwiches, patty melts, wraps, soups and salads, along with daily specials such as meatloaf and beef stew, all at unpretentious price points. Most breakfasts range from $3.99-$5.99; most burgers, melts and sandwiches $5.99-$7.99. You can spend up to $9.99 for a full dinner IF you order shrimp. And unlike many downtown breakfast/lunch joints, it’s open seven days a week, in recognition of the fact that downtown isn’t just about office workers any more.
