Pacific East brought pan-Asian food to Coventry Road many years ago. But it’s now focused on Japanese fare. That includes sushi, of course, and the restaurant boasts of the quality of its lengthy list of sushi and sashimi selections. There’s also an extensive menu of other choices for those not sushi-inclined, some of it as familiar as miso soup, tempura, and teriyaki, some of it more for the adventurous eater. Hot pots, donburi aka rice bowls, and noodle dishes are in abundance, and the “chef’s specialties” section is filled with Malaysian dishes and basil-heavy Thai type choices, a nod to the restaurant’s pan-Asian roots.
