Built in the nineteen-teens by F.A. Sieberling, the founder of Goodyear Tire, Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens was donated by his children in 1957 to a nonprofit foundation. It maintains the five-building estate (including a conservatory) and extensive grounds as a visitor attraction, hosting events such as the annual outdoor summer performances by the Ohio Shakespeare Festival, an antique car show, Vintage Days and its Christmas display Deck the Halls as well as private events such as weddings and corporate meetings. Its main building is the 6th largest historic home open to the public. It’s also known as the founding location of Alcoholics Anonymous in 1935.
