Root Candles has been crafting their coveted candles in Medina since they opened in 1869. The Root Candles founding father, Amos Ives Root, became involved in candle making through his interest in beekeeping. In fact, A.I. Root pioneered many techniques and technologies, helping to standardize beekeeping equipment and writing a seminal book on the topic. He was known has “the bee man” in fifteen languages around the world.
The flagship store features walls and walls of candles along with other great bee-inspired products like local honey and a whole selection of gourmet foods. A robust gift shop, Root also offers products ranging from home décor to personal beauty.
