The Harp is a big, lively place overlooking the West Shoreway with a huge patio that provides a view of the lake. There’s food and drink a-plenty — and you don’t have to stick with the boxty cakes (filled potato pancakes) and Guinness that give the place its Irish flavor. The hearty menu features an array of American favorites too: familiar sandwiches, bar-style appetizers, and entrees that include steak, pork chops, meatloaf, salmon, and even a few with international flair like a Thai stir fry and the atypically fancy lobster pierogis. The Harp is also a gathering place with music — some of it Irish, some of it blues and acoustic — every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, and music festivals on special days like St. Patrick’s Day and July 4.
