The Countryside Farmers Market is unique because many of its vendors are the farmers who have homesteads in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park as part of its Countryside Conservancy program. Located within the park at Howe Meadow, it brings together area farmers and makers of items like cheese, baked goods, pierogies, and jams. At the height of the season, most than 50 vendors assemble in this bucolic setting rife with camaraderie among foodies and food producers.
The summer markets take place on Saturdays from 9am-noon, April 20-October 26, 2019. It also holds biweekly markets Saturdays from 10am-1pm from November through April at the Old Trail School.
Countryside also hosts an auxiliary market at Will Christy Park in Akron’s Highland Square neighborhood, Thursdays 4-7pm, 6/6-8/29, 2019, and a year-round market at Northside Marketplace near downtown Akron Sundays 10am-2pm.
