Mama Santa’s is another of those cornerstone family businesses that help Little Italy retain some of its old-world feel in changing times. Founded in 1961 by a married couple from Sicily whose sons and grandchildren now run the place, this has been a go-to spot for generations of Case Western Reserve students. It’s got everything young people (and families) want: familiar homestyle Italian food, casual atmosphere without a scrap of upscale pretension, and still dirt-cheap prices for its sandwiches, pizza, and pasta dishes. Also note: they’re open Mondays, a day when many restaurants are closed.
