Phil Metres: Poems with a Worldview

Thu 2/28 @ 6pm

Enjoy an evening of free poetry courtesy of poet/activist/JCU professor Philip Metres. He writes “poems with a worldview,” that are relevant and steeped in politics. No fluff here.

More info: Philip Metres has written a number of books, most recently the chapbook, abu ghraib arias (Flying Guillotine, 2011), which won the 2012 Arab American Book Award, and To See the Earth (Cleveland State University Poetry Center, 2008). His work has appeared in Best American Poetry, and has garnered two NEA fellowships, two Watson Fellowships, four Ohio Arts Council Grants, the Anne Halley Prize, the Arab American Book Award, and the Cleveland Arts Prize.

Event held in the Guilford Hall Parlor on Case Western Reserve University’s campus.
