Harpeth Rising features violinist Jordana Greenberg, violist Rebecca Lund-Reed who learned to play the banjo from Pete Seeger videos, percussionist Chris Burgess, and cellist Maria Di Meglio. All came through the prestigious music program at Indiana University, and now reside in a triangle whose points are Memphis, Nashville, and Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Adding their interest in folk and bluegrass to their classical training has produced an ambitious and distinctive type of Americana. Enjoy a full evening devoted to their music at the Beachland Tavern. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door.
