CIM Opera Theatre Sensational Scenes 04.20-22/12
When the Cleveland Institute of Music showcases opera, you can believe they’ll pull out all the stops, as the saying goes.
Directed by opera guru and artistic director David Bamberger, the CIM Opera Theatre gave a fitting close to their fairy tale opera season; they had already produced Humperdinck’s Hänsel & Gretel and Jules Massenet’s Cendrillon or Cinderella.
Presenting fully costumed scenes from famous operas such as Bizet’s Carmen, Donizetti’s The Elixer of Love, Mozarts’s The Magic Flute, and Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Carousel, students performed scenes in the original language with projected English text.
