Thu 3/8 @ 6:30pm
The experience of eating together establishes how we feel about each other. This is the belief behind the next Lockwood Thompson Dialogues at the Cleveland Public Library.
Test the theory out for yourself at the opening reception (starting at 5pm) presented by local chefs. Following the hors d’oeuvres, cultural and food photographer Penny De Los Santos (regular contributor to National Geographic), chef Dan Barber (member of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness, Sports and Nutrition) and author/journalist Michael Ruhlman (writer of Ratio: The Simple Codes Behind the Craft of Everyday Cooking) will explore the ways that food informs our relationships. De Los Santos’ photographs will be exhibited and signed copies of Ruhlman’s books will be available.
This event sets the groundwork for a “Cleveland-based cookbook that features stories, recipes, and photographs from Clevelanders.” The work-in-progress is a collaboration among CPL, LAND studio, design firm RUL—and you. If you would like to contribute to the cookbook, contact Tiffany Graham at tgraham@land-studio.org.
