VIDEO: Anne E. DeChant Swings Back Home
New CD “Swing” Release Party @ The Winchester
By Carol Drummond
Anne E. DeChant. She’s a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll, but the similarities to the famous duo stop right there. An award-winning NEO singer and songwriter who worked and played here for years, Anne relocated to Nashville a few years back to be closer to the talent who could take her songs to the next level. Now she is back in town again to release her new CD, Swing.
Cool Cleveland correspondent Carol Drummond caught up with Anne outside The Winchester in Lakewood. Listen and find out who in Nashville she is targeting to sing her songs, what made her swing back around to releasing a performance CD again, and why the release party on Fri 11/4 is so special.
Her new CD, Swing, hints at her Nashville influence with a bit of a country twang, but her rock and roll roots are underneath, especially in “Old Town Road.” My favorite song is called “All the Pennies.” This sweet and spicy song will have you swaying along, savoring the lyrics. The last track, “Wait For Me,” is simple on the surface, but it hits you hard in the heart, a true love song. Find out for yourself Friday night at The Winchester Music Hall, 12112 Madison Avenue in Lakewood.
