Come to a charity concert to help rebuild a church in Santa Cruz, Chile, that was destroyed by the recent earthquake. Marcia Moreno and her fiancé Joe Amschlinger, originally from Santa Cruz, Chile, decided to take action and help the small community of thirty-two thousand people rebuild their church. They’re joining forces with folk singer Emily Pinkerton for a benefit concert featuring traditional Chilean music on Sat 9/10/11. $10 min suggested donation. Come help the cause!
About the church: “One of the city’s most beautiful buildings was the city church, built almost 200 years ago. The church of the Holy Cross (Santa Cruz in Spanish) was located on the main street by the public square and every Sunday brought hundreds of people together in hope, faith and prayer. TODAY, THE CHURCH IS GONE. It was so seriously damaged by the earthquake it could not be repaired and since the remaining structure was a public safety risk it was demolished soon after.”
