Robin Sacks Motivates & Inspires @ BLISS
Not exactly Comedy Central, but Robin Sacks, journalist, author, and motivational speaker conveys an important message at Clarity Central: “Get Clear, Take Action, and Get Results.” She has designed her own positive approach to life’s nagging problems with a little humor added to the mix. Sacks’ mantra: Stop over-thinking; this activity is wasted energy. She builds on this message through employee workshops, written articles, and personal stories. And she can help you, too, at the upcoming BLISS ladies night out on Fri 6/24. (But more on that later.)
From her previous jobs as television news reporter, producer, and anchor, and working as a copywriter and a licensed financial advisor, Sacks has gained the gusto, clarity, and energy to create her own business. She talks with people teaching them how to flip the negative way of thinking into positive. “We have become a negative-biased culture. Our conversations are filled with ‘Yes, but….’ The news media is a perfect example; it always has a negative bent,” she said.
“We hear about the weak economy and how many people lost their jobs. What about hearing how many people are working? In the weather reports, we hear the forecast today will be partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of precipitation. What about the 80 percent chance of sunshine — that is never reported in the media,” she added.
Sacks was born in Bowling Green, Ohio, and raised in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland. During her media career, she learned how to condense news stories into sound bytes which helped her distill the clutter and find the road toward clarity. Disheartened by the negative television news perspective, she left and pursued freelance writing assignments. Approached by a financial services firm, they asked her to use “her gift of clarity” to convey confidence to the potential investors. Her presentations grew from talking about financial investments to talking about people’s lives.
Sacks now asks her listeners where they are right this minute and is this where they want to be? She gets her audience engaged with questions like these. Author of the book Get Off My Bus, she encourages people to get in the driver’s seat and take control over where they are going, which route they choose to take, and who their passengers are or are not. Just like on a bus with a front destination sign, Sacks rallies her audience to know their destination. She believes people need to get out of their own way to take action and get results.
Come hear Sacks speak at the upcoming inaugural BLISS event on Fri 6/24 at 5PM @ the Galleria at Erieview. BLISS, a ladies night out, is designed to refuel your engines with laughter, inspiration, delicious melt-in-your-mouth appetizers, martinis and mojitos, and pampering amenities form the Dino Palmieri Salon.
