CMNH SmartHome: A house for the future

Now you can tour a home that could represent the future of energy-efficient housing — SmartHome Cleveland, a passive house/exhibit now open to the public @ the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. The house functions without a furnace, making it 90 percent more energy efficient than a regular home. The house is built with high levels of insulation, ultra high-performance windows and efficient heat-recovery ventilation. The house will be on display from June to September 2011. At the end of the exhibit the house will be moved to an empty lot on Wade Park and will become available for purchase. It’s the future of homes.
