Greater Cleveland Film Commission, Pickwick & Frolic 02.27.11
The number of limousines swarming into downtown increased as I neared East 4th Street Sunday evening and a red carpet stretched most of its length as the beautiful people of Northeast Ohio lined up on it for their photo opps. The crisp February-evening air did not stop them from removing their warm coats to reveal their dazzling gowns and dapper suits and tuxes for the cameras.
Inside, guests were welcomed with sparkling champagne and exquisitely displayed eatables tucked below the massive, melting ice sculpture in the shape of Oscar himself.
After reviewing the intriguing silent auction items, I headed downstairs to Hilarities 4th Street Studio stage where Greater Cleveland Film Commission ‘s executive director Ivan Schwarz welcomed the stylish crowd.
Finally the real show began as we watched the 83rd Annual Academy Awards telecast on the large screen on the Hilarities Stage and on all the screens throughout Pickwick & Frolick.
In case you missed it, you can find out about all the 2011 Oscar winners here.
