Pianist, Cellist & Clarinetist Perform for Rocky River Chamber Music Society

Mon 11/6 @ 7:30PM

This month, the Rocky River Chamber Music Society presents a pair of guest musicians from other parts of the country: cellist Keith Robinson and pianist Hyunsoon Whang. Both have had busy performing careers, appearing in concert halls and at festivals across the country.

Robinson is a founding member of the Miami String Quartet and has performed as a chamber musician and solo recitalist, while Whang is a professor of piano at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, and performs, tours and records as a soloist. They’ll be joined for part of the program by clarinetist Daniel McKelway, the Assistant Principal and Eb clarinetist of the Cleveland Orchestra since 1995, professor of clarinet at Baldwin Wallace University and president of the Rocky River Chamber Music Society.

The program includes Samuel Barbers Sonata for cello and piano in C minor, Op. 6; Sergei Prokofiev’s Sonata for cello and piano in C Major, Op. 119; and Johannes Brahms’ Intermezzo in A Major, Op. 118 No. 2.

The concert, taking place at West Shore Unitarian-Universalist Church, is free although donations are encouraged. You can also watch the concert on the RRCMS’s YouTube channel.
